Christmas Lights Switch-On & Nativity Selfies

Children enjoy Nativity at Formby lights 'Switch-On.

Hundreds of children enjoyed stepping into the nativity scene at the switch on of the Christmas lights in Formby last weekend. They dressed up as angels, shepherds and Kings to have their 'Selfie' photo taken amongst the nativity figures. The stall which was run by volunteers from Churches in Formby also sang carols and gave out 600 balloons highlighting the forthcoming annual Formby Village Nativity Play.

The village nativity play will take place in Chapel lane on Saturday 12th November at 11 a.m. The annual free outdoor play attracts thousands each year and features a live donkey, sheep and goats. Children from local schools will dress as characters and join the cast of adults in performing the play which is different every year. Organiser Bruni Jones said "This is our way of telling the Christmas story. It is a great community effort and many people give of their time and energy to make this a success".
